The Startup Dad Journey Ben Carlson

Ben grew up in rural Minnesota where he spent the majority of his free time around his grandparents farms. Armed with a high school diploma, a few credits from a technical college and a desire to learn and better himself he taught himself how to program in PHP and In 2000 he turned his love of programming into a job building custom websites back in Minnesota, for a failed startup during the dot-com bust.

After missing a few paychecks at the startup, he went to work for Dennis Kirk, Inc. and ran the development team which took the site from $900k/year to $36MM/year. Ben lives with his son in Frisco, Texas
